Outside the classroom

Breakfast Club

We currently run a before school Breakfast Club from 8.10am. Children will get breakfast and drinks and the cost is £1.50 per day.

Independent after school care

There are local providers who can supply after-school care.

School council

Representatives from the school attend half-termly High Peak Kids Council sessions. We then report our plans back to the rest of school.

Our current focus areas are:

  • to develop 'Feet not Fuel' project
  • to reduce litter in the area
  • to raise funds for the The Thomas Theyer Foundation

At Thornsett, we offer a wide range of clubs for children to participate in. Children and staff are encouraged to suggest ideas for clubs and we are always on the lookout for new and exciting ideas. The range of clubs available often changes during the year to ensure a large choice is provided. Clubs take place at lunchtime and after school. The majority of clubs are run by school staff and are free of charge. A few clubs are run by external private providers where charges apply.

For the Autumn Term there will be a range of lunchtime clubs every day, as well as Being Creators on Tuesdays after school and Peak Active Sports on Friday after school.
